BD Jazz is a new label which offers listeners an introduction to some of the greatest jazz musicians of our time through a two disc set of their most-loved songs. Additionally, a 16 page illustrated book is included, which offers an insight into their lives and music. Louis Armstrong was born in New Orleans, LA on August 4th, 1901 and died in New York, NY on July 6th, 1971. Along the way, he created a rich legacy in Jazz that lives to this day. `Satchmo', as he was known, was both a trumpet virtuoso and a gifted bass vocalist. Armstrong songs like "A Kiss To Build A Dream On" (as heard in Sleepless in Seattle) and his many other classics have ensured him a key place in Jazz history. |
