In Search of the Fourth Chord is the most recent album by English Rock band Status Quo, released September 17, 2007. It is a hint at the band always being popularised for only playing the same three chords in their lifetime. It is their 28th studio album and sees the return of producer Pip Williams. It entered the UK album charts at number 15. The title is a tongue-in-cheek, self-mocking reference to a long standing British joke about the band's perceived ability to play only three guitar chords, and a reference to the album In Search of the Lost Chord by British rock band The Moody Blues. The album's artwork is a parody of the Indiana Jones films. The track Bad News also marks bassist John "Rhino" Edwards' first lead vocal on an original Status Quo song.
