This LP instantly went into my Top 10 for '60s dance instrumentals the first time I heard it. One of the most unique albums in the genre with a weird combination of instruments led by a "percussive" string section and accented with super cool, coed group vocals and nonsense lyrics. You gotta hear this one, it's unbelievable. Legrand wrote most of the arrangements here and it's funny, 'cuz I can't say I've run into anything else by this ez soundtrack stalwart that was even remotely interesting. "Plays for Dancers" though is a masterpiece. Highly recommended! |
