B. J. ColeBorn on June 17, 1946, in London. Probably one of the finest Pedal Steel Guitarist on this Island called Mother Earth. BJ began his career 30 years ago and played with a lot of people. Take a look at his site (a link you can find on the end of this page). BJ began as a founder member of the British post psychedelic band Cochise* (three albums for United Artists). He then went on to write and record his seminal experimental album The New Hovering Dog (United Artists 1973), which featured many of the leading British musicians of the day, including bassist Danny Thompson, drummer Mike Giles (King Crimson) and keyboardist Francis Monkman (Curved Air). The ambient country piece Transparent Music (1989) & Heart of the Moment (1995), with Gavin Harisson of Porcupine Tree, was another solo project. In 2000 he collaborated with electronica experimentalist and producer Luke Vibert on Stop the Panic, which intersected his shimmering guitar lines with the squelch and bop of Vibert's electronics. |
