Electronic Meditation is Tangerine Dream's debut album. It features the Tangerine Dream lineup of Edgar Froese, Conrad Schnitzler, and Klaus Schulze (his only album with Tangerine Dream). It is about as far from e-music as it gets but still shows promise at the same time. Wildly experimental timbres, passages, and textures dominate this sound world. It is definitely a rock & roll effort and decidedly avant-garde. And at the same time it is very accessible. It is very similar to the music of Pink Floyd and Amon Duuhl of the same era. — Jim Brenholts. |
