Originally from Monserrat, one of the smallest caribbean islands, Maizie moved to London with her parents for better career opportunities. Soon after arriving in London she began modeling, eventually gaining the title "Miss Black Beautiful". On a trip to Germany Maizie was asked to join the brand new group Boney M - the Rest is history.
